E2 - Digital publishing e-course for small and medium scale publishers

On May 17th 2013 in the Business room of the Turin Book Fair Premises Fatma Cihan Akkartal (KALEM) and Massimiliano Spano (POLITO) with the moderation of Mehmet Demirtas (KALEM) hold a presentation of the E2 project addressed to Italian publishers.
E2 project at the Salone Internazionale del Libro
TURIN, Italy - 17th MAY 2013 AT 12.30
Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) and Kalem Kültür Dernegi (KALEM) will present the E2 project and the e-learning programme "Enhanced Editors"during the Salone Internazionale del Libro in Turin, Italy. On May the 17th 2013 at 12.30 at Business Room, Pad. 1. This international event will give the consortium the opportunity to disseminate project objectives and results and to involve potential participants in the e-course. The presentation at the Salone Internazionale del Libro will show to participants the project main activities, the e-course objectives and learning outcomes. E2 second Interim Meeting in Istanbul, March 2013
The E2 consortium held its second Interim meeting in Istanbul, Turkey on March the 1st 2013 hosted by the project partner KALEM.
The meeting aimed at discussing the actvities implemented so far and the upcoming ones. It was a successful summit where many important decisions, related to the future of the project, were taken. The meeting aimed at defining the pilot course topics and activities, the Experimentation plan and the timeline of the e-course. E2 project National event at the Vilnius Book Fair
Lithuanian Publishers Association (LLA) organized the stand to promote E2 project and e-learning programme "Enhanced Editors"during the Vilnius Book Fair. On 22nd of February LLA held the National Workshop for small and medium publishing houses to present the E2 project and the e-learning course "Enhanced Editors".
The National Workshop attended 28 representatives from 20 Lithuanian small and medium publishing houses. The majority of participants were sales managers, marketing managers, e-publishing managers and directors. Also there were several editors, communication and information managers.
During the event, LLA distributed many E2 leaflets to visitors, promoting project objectives and purpose, focusing on the on-line e-course as the core activity of the E2 project. Click HERE to see the image gallery.
E2 Course Design Chart ready!
The E2 project team defined the chart and topics of the on-line course "Enhanced Editors". According to the results of the Training Needs analysis, conducted on a sample of 166 small and medium publishing houses, partners agreed to approach two main domain related to the development of innovative publishing outcomes: production of an e-book and book sale marketing & promotion. In particular, the "Enhanced Editors" e-course will increase skills and competences of publishing houses' workers through teaching:
E-BOOK PRODUCTION: the first section will approach the transformations of editorial market in Europe and worldwide with a particular attention to the introduction and production of an e-book.
BOOK SALE MARKETING AND PROMOTION: the second section will approach on-line book sale and distribution; how to use social networking to promote a Publishing House, a Book or an Author and its impact.
