1) Università degli Studi “Guglielmo Marconi” – (USGM) - Italy

Università degli Studi “Guglielmo Marconi” is the first Athenaeum in Italy following the “Open University” model. USGM, recognized by the Ministry of Education, is dedicated to researching, developing and testing innovative pedagogical methods to integrate blended learning with the latest technological solutions and communication tools (e.g. E-learning, mobile learning, etc.) in Education. The International Projects and R&D Office has extensive experience as applicant and partner in various national and EU projects in terms of coordinating, developing e-learning, m-learning and intelligent agent technology for different training and educational programmes. USGM is applicant of two Comenius projects that address diverse EU high schools and educators: READ IT project, using digital storytelling for the production of book trailers, START project, using virtual worlds to teach street art and SEEP project, launching an EU Network of educational providers to promote co-operation and innovation in secondary school science education.

2) C.I.E.S. - Centro Informazione e Educazione allo Sviluppo onlus (CIES) - Italy

C.I.E.S. is an NGO founded in 1983, whose mission is to promote values of solidarity and cooperation in the context of its national as well as of its international activities. C.I.E.S. cooperates with many EU partners and is a member of several coordinating groups: Concord-European NGO Confederation for Relief and Development (School Curriculum working group), Association of Italian NGO (Development Education Italian Platform - school working group), COCIS-Town Committee for Decentralized Cooperation of the Municipality of Rome, Fair Trade Italy Consortium, "Trialog" Platform. Working divisions of C.I.E.S. are: Intercultural Mediation, Education and training, Communication/awareness and Events, International Cooperation. Moreover, it manages a Youth Centre and an Inter-cultural Documentation Centre. It works in schools and cooperates with local authorities and institutions. It organizes exhibitions, meetings and debates, shows and festivals as well as training courses for migrants who live and work in Italy.

3) Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation (BGRF) - Bulgaria

The Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation, established in 1998, is an independent non-profit NGO with the aim to contribute to the achievement of gender equality and equal opportunities in compliance with international universal and regional standards of Human Rights. The BGRF works for the protection of Human rights and gender equality through, research, advocacy campaigns and proposals for legislative changes, provision of education, training and consultations for professionals and working in wide networks in cooperation with other organizations, public institutions and experts. Since 2001 the BGRF has a youth program. The team of trainers, youth workers, lawyers, social workers develops methodologies for education, training and non-formal education for Human rights. The Foundation has many implemented activities and projects in the sphere of Global Citizenship Education.

4) Associação de Professores de Sintra (APS) – Portugal

Associação de Professores de Sintra (APS) is a Portuguese non-profit organization created in 1992 with the main purpose of supporting teachers of all levels and to enhance their professional development. With more than 1800 associates, its work covers a wide range of activities (national and international conferences, seminars, publications, thematic workshops, in-service training courses, international projects, etc. ) and has been recognized by the local and national authorities. APS is an In-service Teacher Training Centre recognized by the Portuguese Ministry of Education since 1993, covering a wide range of areas and involving yearly more than one thousand teachers of all teaching levels.

5) Istanbul Milli Egitim Mudurlugu (ILMEM) – Turkey

Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education (ILMEM) is responsible of all educational activities, administration issues covering all forms of education; formal education (pre-school, primary, lower secondary, upper secondary, technical/vocational schools, non-formal (adult education, apprenticeship training, in-service training in Istanbul, under the Ministry of Education. ILMEM, being a local authority for Turkish National Education in Istanbul, is a directorate of all administrative issues related to education, covering institutions of all levels. There are approximately 10.000 teachers, 3 million students and 2600 schools, within the 39 districts of Istanbul, operating under its responsibility. Projects Coordination Unit is the one which is in charge of the activities related to EU Projects.

6) Hedmark University College (HUC) - Norway

Hedmark University College is located in the south-eastern part of Norway, with more than 5000 students it is one of the largest university colleges in Norway. The college provides high standards and modern research-based teaching. Hedmark University College is internationally oriented and emphasizes student and staff exchanges through European and national cooperation programmes and bilateral agreements. It has a set of partner institutions in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. The main goal for international institutional cooperation is quality improvement in the study programmes through student mobility, staff mobility and professional development. Digital Storytelling (DS) is gradually being integrated in several parts of the teacher education programs. In teacher education programs HUC is investigating the power of DS as a tool for enhancing learning and reflection. HUC is also engaged in the process of establishing an international network for research on DS used for enhancing reflection from practical experiences.

7) TRÀNSIT PROJECTES (TRANSIT) - Spain

Since its foundation, TRÀNSIT Projects defines a management model of quality and coordination of the resources of a territory so as to contribute to its development. Its mission is to serve the territorial development policies to ease the access and acquisition of a cultural and social heritage enabling the promotion of people and their social inclusion. The means to achieve that are mainly the management of residential centres for minors, the management of socio-educational activities, the organisation of events linked with the mission of the organisation, the participation in networks and fora related with social development at local, national and international level and the production, dissemination and transfer of studies about the main social issues.

8) ASSOCIAZIONE SEED (SEED) - Switzerland

Seed is a non profit organization based in Lugano, Switzerland, born in 2007 out of the enthusiasm of young professionals in instructional design, education, technologies and international development. Seed is currently a small organization active in high quality education, training and e-learning programs in the non profit world – in local schools, healthcare centres and non profit activities, and in international cooperation and development. Among other partners, seed worked with the University of Lugano and with UNDP, and is member of the Federazione delle ONG Ticinesi (FOSIT). The key competencies of Seed include learning design (curriculum design, learning activity design, and design of instructional materials), and deep knowledge of the non profit sector. Thanks to Swiss funds for indirect participation, Seed participated into 8 Lifelong Learning projects, carrying out the design and production of instructional materials, and conducting experimentations. Moreover it is active in different projects in Switzerland and abroad based on digital storytelling as a way to improve relational, communication and technological skills of children and adults.
